I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina, and I'm passionate about helping couples in distress find their way back to each other. For the last 9 years I have dedicated my life’s purpose to understanding the field of psychology, the highest standards of evidence based, individual, and couples care, and providing that to those who desire to see growth and continued connection in their relationships.
Outside of the therapy room, I am a mom of the most amazing, dinosaur loving 5 year old, who is my absolute joy! I also love traveling, reading, playing my violin, and being in love with Jesus Christ.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Fayetteville State University, and my Master's of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2014.
It is my greatest privilege to walk alongside of you on your journey to a healthier marriage, relationship, or general mental health.

BOOK A CONSULTATION
My approach to counseling is relational. I believe without a relationship, the tools used are often not retained, and it's important to use therapeutic approaches that are research based and clinically sound.
For couples, I use The Gottman Method Couples Therapy. We will take assessments that identify strengths and areas of concern, and implement interventions that aid in learning your partners greatest fears and worries, dreams, hopes, and aspirations.
When betrayal takes place, we will learn what it's like to heal and move forward, however that may look for you. You’ll learn the foundational aspects of not only what makes committed relationships lasts, but what makes them happy and healthy.

"Donisa was able to connect with me in a way I didn’t expect and made me feel very comfortable while challenging me to address my thoughts and emotions and how I handle them. She was a teacher, and I’m happy to be able to learn from her."
– Written after therapy with Donisa for 3 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, and others.
"I tell everyone how helpful my relationship with Donisa has been. She has a way of getting to the heart of situation without judgment. She is encouraging. She focuses on the client, not the situations and people on the periphery. She has the tools to create change without telling a person what they need to do."
– Written after therapy with Donisa for 8 months on issues concerning depression, anxiety, addictions, and bipolar disorder.
"Donisa, is the therapist I prayed for. I noticed a change in myself the first session of speaking with her. She is anointed, listens attentively and gives great advice. God sent! Thank you Donisa!"
